What is TAKS-ercise?
TAKS-ercise is the heartfelt result from our team of three fourth-grade teachers desiring to prepare our students and ourselves for the challenge of the TAKS test. We discovered early on that almost no correctly formatted practice materials were available. This necessitated that we write our own, each of us working with the subject area (reading, writing and math) that is our teaching assignment. We were then encouraged to share our efforts, as perhaps others might find them useful.
These spiral-bound books are each approximately 80-90 pages in length, with the reading/writing books consisting of 15 passages each and the math books consisting of 27 lessons. The combo book, a daily practice book with one question each for the subject areas of reading, writing, math, social studies and science contains 20 passages. All the books have been written to TEA specifications and strictly adhere to the TEKS. Explore our site to learn more.
